Game Day Ready

7:29 PM

Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of heels and getting all dolled up with makeup and clothes, but when it comes time for football season, you’d swear I am one of the boys. Fun fact, when I was growing up, I wanted to major in communications and become the next Erin Andrews (#WCW!).

While my dream career didn’t exactly pan out (damn Southern accent!), I still look forward to the thrill of football every Fall. And what’s better than curling up to the TV all weekend to watch a little football?? Being there to watch the game live of course!

I’m pretty fortunate because I get to go to a lot of football games, and sporting events in general. Last year I traveled all the way to Gainesville, FL to cheer on my favorite college football team (Florida Gators) to a victory after 3 Overtimes. Talk. About. Nerves.

And this weekend, I was at the home opener for the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, they aren’t having a great start to their season (0-3)….nevertheless a part of me wishes I was one of those uber girlie girls that wears heels and skirts to football games…they always look so cute right before wiping out in the stands because they tripped in their heels. Those moments remind that being a tomboy is totally okay, and frankly is better for my health & safety! And besides, companies like Victoria’s Secret and the NFL have made huge strides in creating woman friendly sports attire, making it all that much easier to look cute, but comfortable while cheering on your favorite mascot.

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Cosmopolitan and checking out the interview with Erin Andrews titled, “Get Dressed for the Game”. Not only does she make very valid points, but her tips are spot on and exactly the sentiment I live by when getting game day ready.

Go Gators!!
