Favorite Flannel

6:17 PM

This fall I'm seeing flannel shirts popping up all over stores, which makes me ONE.HAPPY. CAMPER! I've had this Urban Outfitters flannel shirt for a few years now, and I love the warmth it provides, the texture and probably the fact that it rarely needs to be ironed (hallelujah!

You don't have to tell me twice to buy multiples of things that don't need ironed! Not that I am not domestic, or anti ironing, I just never give myself enough time when getting ready to iron my clothes and so those items are rarely worn.

Another reason I love flannel is bc the styling capabilities are endless! I last styled this shirt with a Cynthia Rowley LDB and heels for a fun edgy vibe (see here), but today I paired it with this little striped dress and some cute tennies for a comfortable and casual look and one that is hoping to bring the Cubs some good luck ;) They won the last time I wore these shoes, so fingers crossed it works again!

Anyway, the main reason I love flannel is because it reminds me of Christmas! The plaids, and shades of red just get my Jolly St. Nick mojo going! Give me some hot chocolate, some cozy PJs, a nice fire and and the N'Sync Christmas album and I am on cloud nine!

That said, I totally just realized that Christmas is only 2.5 months away!!! Every year I tell myself I will start gift shopping in July and every year I am down to the last second hoping gifts arrive on time. Ughh...why do I do this to myself?!!!

We should all make good use of our time tonight and cheer on the Cubs to a victory before doing a little online window shopping for family gifts. Repeat after me: "I will not buy anything for myself!"
