February 14th

6:15 PM

It’s officially February, which means love is in the air!! And I’ve already began planning the perfect outfits for my Valentine’s Trip to New Orleans! Since it will be slightly warmer than it is here in Chicago, I am looking forward to wearing outfits that have been stored away in my closet for too long.

And obviously because it’s Valentine’s Day, I need the perfect blend of red and pink to wear to whatever Joe has in store for the day – which is definitely going to consist of a nap because our flight back home is at 6:30am on Valentine’s Day. Ughhh! Maybe its cliché, but I love dressing for the holidays lol. It isn’t uncommon to see me wearing orange and black around Halloween, red and green around Christmas and of course pink and red for that special day of love!

This little number is too cute for words, but want to know what the best part is?? Its separates…which means I can wear the red dress on its own, the pink sweater on its own, or I can wear them together to create something extra special for Valentine’s Day!

Now, no I didn’t buy these two items together, so I had to get a little creative in order to style this, but that’s what is so fun about fashion, right?! Thinking outside the box and finding new ways to reinvent the same styles! I’d be willing to bet you have something similar in your closet, but if not, never fear…I’ve included links to very similar items, as well as a couple other favorites that I would totally wear for the big day (sorry guys - the sweater and the dress are both sold out!).

Also, you may have noticed that I blonde-d things up recently! Huge shout out to my girl Raz at James Anthony Salon, as she was absolutely fantastic! I’ve always been the type of person that bounces from salon to salon and I’ve never had an actual “hair stylist” that I could call my own. Well that has officially changed, as she was the bomb dot com! If you’re in Chicago, take the Metra out to Oak Park (it’s a 15 minute train ride) and get your hair done here...you won’t regret it…especially the 15 minute tea tree experience which consists of the standard shampooing and conditioning, as well as a scalp, shoulder and neck massage! It was heavenly and I may or may not be scheduling those on a weekly basis…don’t judge me lol.
