Hey girl hey! It’s Monday and it’s time to kick some work week a$$, what do you say?! I live in a constant struggle of being comfortable at work, or being confident. When I dress well, and actually do my hair for work, I feel confident, and when I am confident, I am a thousand times more successful throughout the week.

But when I am comfortable – well I’m comfortable dang it! Does that really need an explanation?! Last week, I was committed to comfortable…I’m talking the full extreme – flats, top-knots, casual shirts…and it felt awesome! But I wasn’t as productive as I could have been. I was struggling from some serious writer’s block, I lacked initiative and I was in desperate need of some drive.

And while those weeks are okay every once in a while, they tend to drag on way past their expiration, which makes for a seriously LONGGGGGGG week. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

So this week, I am challenging myself to pull it together and put myself in clothes that will make me confident and successful every day this week. I know what you're thinking...Jessica - it’s only Monday! But girls, I've got this! This little scallop dress was the perfect ray of sunshine I needed to start the week, and I'm going to spend time tonight planning out the rest of my outfits for the week.Boom!

And in case you were wondering, here are some other tips to fake it til you make it in the confidence department:

1. Strike a power pose
Time to strike your vogue...or in this case, prop your hands on your hips and become the superwoman you already know you are!

2. Accept compliments
I am terrible at this, but we ladies have got to stick together and stop deflecting compliments when we get them! How frequently has someone said "Your hair looks nice today" and you respond with "Ugh, well I couldn't get it to do anything this morning blah blah blah." Repeat after me "T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U!"

3. Write down your successes
Then put them in a jar and read then when you're feeling a little down on yourself...even the most bada$$ women need to be reminded how freaking awesome they are!

4. Smile
Yes, the act of smiling can actually fool the brain into releasing brain chemicals that make you feel better. Pretty cool eh?

5. Stand up straight!
I happen to know that you just perked up a little as you read those words and it's not because I am an uber creepy stalker lady...it's because I perked up as I typed the words lol. Slouching is such a bad habit of mine - ughhhhh!!! But body language is super important in feeling confident so in the words of mothers everywhere - sit up straight young lady!
