It’s only been autumn for like a week, and already I’m wearing black like it’s my job lol. Each year when the temperatures begin to drop, so does my choice of color and I wear more and more of the black variety. It’s almost like my subconscious mind is reminding me of how much I hate cold temperatures, so I wear black in mourning. Either way, I am determined not to let my lack of color choices take its toll my wardrobe!

If you know me, even the slightest little bit, then you know how much I love a good sweater…you also know that last winter, Joe managed to shrink 7 of my brand new sweaters in the wash (he washes/I fold = we’re a match made in heaven). So with my sweater game running a little light this year, I’ve been adding in a couple brand new ones over the last month or so. This black layered sweater has to be my favorite though!

I am such a fan of button downs layered underneath sweaters, but I run into the issue that I rarely ever have time in the mornings to iron a button down to put as the base layer. Now, one would reasonably conclude that I should just either wake up earlier (never gonna happen!), or iron my clothes at night, which does happen on occasion – but I prefer to live on the edge and pick out my outfits in the mornings. So this sweater is a dream come true because the base layer is stitched into the sweater and there is no ironing needed!

And don’t even get me started on these pants! They’re like wearing the most comfortable pair of pajama pants, except they’re not pajamas…they’re work pants, and who doesn’t want to go to work in pants that feel like pajamas?! But honestly, the best part about these pants and that they’re on sale, and come in many different colors, both in the culotte version or the regular, wide-leg version. Just wait til you see the ‘marooned’ pair!

What’s your coping mechanism for surviving cooler temperatures?? Share your secrets below…mainly so I can find something other than wearing black all the time :)
